Verifying a bill is genuine
Anyone can check that a bill was really issued by Eastern Railway before paying it. No sign-in needed.
- 1Scan the Scan to verify QR code at the top right of the bill with a phone camera, or open the Verify a bill page.
- 2If typing, enter the Bill No. exactly as printed (for example SDH/SC/26-27/001) and press Verify. Spaces and capital letters do not matter.
- 3Compare the amount, bill date, due date and status shown with your copy of the bill.
What the result means
| Result | What to do |
|---|---|
| Genuine bill | The bill is real. Pay only if the details match your copy. |
| This bill has been cancelled | Do not pay this bill. |
| Bill not found | Check the number. Drafts and bills still under approval are never shown. If it still is not found, call the helpdesk before paying. |
| Verification is unavailable right now | The service is busy. This does not mean the bill is false; try again later. |
The verify page never shows party names, addresses or GST details.
